Everyone complains about cops writing speeding tickets until a loved one gets killed by a speeder. Then they want to know why the cops aren't stopping the speeders. Freaking Okies always find something to complain about. I've just accepted that as a way of life here. Sad, but it is what it is.

Went out to the base yesterday. Out there at 46th street North and 169. Man the Highway Patrol was working that stretch. I don't speed so I wasn't worry. I'm not complaining because when the police is out there and I'm on my bike most people drive right for a little while. Just a little while.

Speeding isn't what kills people though, driving like a moron on a busy street does. Let's not confuse the two. However, if you're driving 50 in a 35 I'd call that driving like a moron. If traffic is flowing ~5mph faster than posted but there's a free lane and you do ~10 more than posted, I don't see a problem as long as you're not swerving around and not signalling.

Sorry, I just can't drop it.
I agree with the bolded part. Driving 50 in a 35 is relative. At times it would be dangerous, at others it wouldn't be.
Some people can drive 80, some can't. The important thing to know is which one you are.
Common sense has been replaced by stupid laws. Speeding tickets are not about safety, they are about revenue generation.

Yes. With all the crap going on in this city, how you can free up 6 to 8 cops just to write BS speeding tickets is far beyond me.
Just my .02, and I would hate to offend the sheeple, so I'll let it go at that.

I'm not a fan of traffic stops on the Interstate systems, I feel like they impede commerce, BUT
the incidence with police does pick up people on larger charges, drug possession, having bench warrants, violating parole, etc.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Are you saying that you agree with traffic stops because they allow people to be arrested and charged with other nefarious un-related charges?

Good thing we are cracking down on speeders when we've got a huge meth problem and a growing gang problem. :D

Thank you GM. My point exactly.
Cracking down on meth heads and gang bangers nets the city and state a total of zero funds. Cracking down on speeding is a big boost to the coffers, hence the infatuation for these multiple officer speed checks.
Just a year ago we were being told the streets would be running with blood because we were letting go of officers. BS.
Is speeding really the biggest problem Tulsa has right now?
