For fear that this little tidbit would be lost within the multiple pages of the "other" thread about Sarah Palin's comments on Paul Revere, I've decided to start a new thread instead of posting on page 5 or 6, just before the thread dies.

Truth is: Sarah Palin DID give us a history lesson.

From no less than the Los Angeles Times, certainly not a conservative newspaper, comes this story:

And, yet another story on the same topic from the Boston Herald. You know, one of those states where the Revolution began.

When, oh when, will the masses quit listening to the media with an attitude that they are so intelligent themselves. Lets face it folks. The media gives credence to the old adage that I've long used: "I've seen too many college graduates that couldn't pour 'pi$$' from a boot with the instructions written on the heel."

In addition, I'll add one more dig at the media. The U.S. didn't lose the war in Vietnam. The media surrendered.

I'm no Palin fan boy, but I always do get a chuckle when people call someone stupid or dumb when that someone has more fame, power and fortune (save those born into it) than the name caller will have in a lifetime.

Right. He rode through the streets on his horse ringing bells and telling the British they won't take our arms. Just like she said. That was Paul Revere's midnight ride, just like she said. She obviously wasn't talking out of her ass, and then dug up some information in a vain effort to make her sound more informed than the average elementary school student.

Reminds me of when Ann Coulter said Canada was a U.S. ally in Vietnam and sent troops in an effort to draw a comparison between Vietnam in Iraq, and her belated response to being called on it was to say she was correct because some Canadians did fight with the American armed forces. And the Ann Fans tried to back her up by saying Canada did send troops during the Paris Peace Accords. When clearly she had no idea of either of those when she made the statement, and even if she had it makes absolutely no sense in the context of her Vietnam/Iraq comparison.

Lawd forbid Palin own up to what she said. Much better to try to justify it.

Right. Because every famous person with money is brilliant.

From your article:
Patrick Leehey of the Paul Revere House said Revere was probably bluffing his British captors, but reluctantly conceded that it could be construed as Revere warning the British.

I suppose you could say that,” Leehey said. “But I don’t know if that’s really what Mrs. Palin was referring to.

McConville said he also is not convinced that Palin’s remarks reflect scholarship.

“I would call her lucky in her comments,” McConville said.

Obviously this man thinks she knew what she was talking about as well.
