I will say this. I am sick and tired of working 60+ hours a week so 50% of my income can be forcibly taken and redistributed to parasites. There is a place for charity, but I am forced to participate, and then called a racist, evil, mean, compassionless, and brutal because I do not believe that anyone is entitled to the production of others. Even more sad, I work those hours because I cannot get competent employees or the employees just do not want to work. On top of that, I have had to directly compete with .gov for employees, and .gov takes my tax dollars and prices me out of the employee market.

I supposed I missed something here. What do you think that PSA for legalized theft cost the taxpayers. I am not surprised that this program dates to 1977. Much destruction of this country was done between 1964 and 1980.
I wonder what would happen if they handed everyone that appeared at the office a shovel and explained that they were now employed to work all the 'shovel-ready projects'?
I won't even get into the entitlement mentality issue or the eligibility issues. On the practical side, FS usersshould learn how to shop wisely and have a surplus put back. It disgusts me that they are outraged that they have no food the day before the card is to be loaded with their "benefits". I can't believe that the system has never been programmed to only allow quality foods to be bought and only bought at grocery stores, not high priced convenience stores. Disallow all junk, desserts, and microwavables and they could easily stock up on staples and ingredients.
It does not look to me like too many of those people have been missing many meals. They should be shipped to Somolia to see what hunger really looks like.
