I have a sorta odd question for the masses here. I have an upcoming funeral to go to this week for my wifes uncle who passed away sunday. My question is this, do you guys think it would be disrespectful to carry something (my Glock 30, Ruger LCP) to the funeral when I go?

I ask because I probably would not worry so much about it if it were just the church down the street from us that the service is being held at, however the graveside service is going to be later in the day in Woodward, Ok. And that is the real reason I am seriously thinking about taking something with me. I know at minimum I will be taking the Glock and the holster for after service and to leave in the car for the drive there and back. I am really thinking I would like to have the LCP in the pocket since it is so light and slim, it would not be very noticable. Plus there is always the concern for the "AKWARD" hug when you are carrying a gun on the hip. but the pocket carry is best way to solve that!

Anyways I wanted see what peoples opinions and thoughts are on the issue, and has anyone encountered or dealt with this personally? what is your story?

THANKS, Jeff

I wouldn't worry about it. Carry what you want, just as you would if you were in the grocery store. With all the cell phones, and health devices etc if somebody feels the pocket pistol during a hug it would be tough to determine what it was. If they fondle your gun with an open hand, and finger tips, they would probably recognize it.

I carry everywhere it's legal.

Next question!

I love that response, and asking this question on a gun board is kinda of silly really!

I just figured I would see the thoughts and any stories or even tips on carrying and staying undetectable. because the last thing I need is for my wife to have to deal with her somewhat anti-gun family finding out I have one one me and giving me or her crap on that day. I would probably lose my cool, as I am tired of arguing about it with them anyways.

I carry at every outing I attend. I don't see it disrespectful. Who said a bad guy can't kill you at a funeral?

Awkward hugs? Pssh, I don't even care anymore. Tell them it's a new cell phone made by Glock.

With crazy things like the recent church shooting, you should carry every place that is legal. Awkwardness and negative attitudes about guns be damned.
