Also why in the heck would you name a placed dong's. I guess it fits the description. Lots of dongs in there...

The original owner was an Asian man who's last name was Dong. I believe his daughter may be married to the current proprietor, but I'm not 100% positive on that.

Oh yeah, no Dong's thread would be complete without the obligatory Dong's tag line:

No more yanky my wanky, the Donger need food! :D

Yup his name was Fong Dong And his daughter looks like she is high maintenance. I try and go in there as little as possible after I saw them try and charge a guy in a wheelchair for 4 transfers plus shipping to send 2 revolvers back to Ruger for service. They we're not too happy when I told the guy he could just ship them himself

I have only been there twice, due to warnings from others including this board. Once was for a castle wrench and the other for a spring. Both times I went in, asked for what I needed, and was helped quickly. Made some small talk with the young guy at the counter. I did not even look at their gun prices.

Personally i've never had a problem with any of them except for the owner. I went in there to buy some .30 carbine ammo and after the owner rang it up he basically threw it back at me. Then I called up there looking for 9mm largo ammo for a spanish destroyer carbine i got at a gunshow. Young guy answered the phone and said they didnt have any. I went there anyways and sure enough they did have some. Then I came in another time and i think i was wearing levis or some brand of not baggy jeans and i overheard the owner mumbling to a coworker about no baggy jeans being allowed.

Oh and JP is banned from there.

you guys are just jealous of their success. 66 years in business they must be doing something right.
most people that complain about them complain about every other store too. when you go in with a pissy attitude
they give you one right back. been dealing with them since the 70's and did buys together back when I had my shop.
but then I don't go in expecting to be treated like royalty.

That about sums it up, mr ed. Can't be easy running a place like Dong's with all the big box stores and Internet merchants popping up all over the place.
