Wow!!! That is some Bull****!!! There's got to be something that can be done! Go figure though, the gov't making a law to protect themselves and not you. Can we still go up to USSA and make donations? I haven't had the money, but I get paid tomorrow, so I can make a trip up there Saturday.

Wow 2 lawyers said that?? I think the $125k limit is for PUNITIVE damages not ACTUAL damages. This comes from a long ago grad school class so I could be wrong.JB is a civil litigator,I'll get him to chime in.

John, don't let this get you down if you can. That may not be easy but try to focus on your recovery. Call as many lawyers as it takes. Still praying for you on all fronts.

Take care,

Alan

On Dec,16th at 4:30 pm, I was stopped at a red light on 71st street and HW 51. I was rearended by a BA school bus. I was knocked off my motorcycle and ran over by the front right tire, dragged 192 feet under the bus and ran over again by the left rear tire. I have 2 broken rids and a bruised lung, a shattered pelvis, broken left femur, broken right tibia and fibia, and a shattered left ankle. I was taken to St. Fransis and had emergency surgey. 2 days latter I had another and Friday the 6th of Jan. I will have my 3rd surgery. I was informed by my Lawyer that the bus and driver is considered a govenmental entity and the are only responsibly for $125,000 of the bills. I get nothing for lost wages, pain and suffering, disability, rehab, or meds. I am responsible for the remainder of the bills that the $125,000 doesnt cover.

Your own insurance on the motorcycle may pick up the additional medical costs... check with your own agent for coverage in excess of that of the school district.

I got back from my 3rd surgery today and the nerve block is wearing off now. The pain is a welcome reminder that I am alive and not paralized. So that is the silver lineing to this dark cloud. I will win this fight and be stronger mentally and physicialy after this is over. Financially not so much.
