I was talking to a friend and she said she has been to stores that have had security cameras in the dressing room. She can't remember which business it was though. LOL. Is this legal? What would you do if it is legal and a business was doing this? Would you say something?
Seriusly? NO... But I'll wager if there are security cameras there they probably are NOT able to see the little dressing cubicle.

First thing I would do is bend over and show the camera my better side. LOL........ Seriously it would not bother me in the least bit. I doubt that this is happening simply for the legal repercussions from some of the more prude of our society.
It's illegal, as you have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the dressing room. By dressing room, I mean the actual stall. The hallway and foyer/entry area of the dressing room area would be able to be taped.
So, only prudes are worried about having a measure of privacy? Come on, let's keep the discussion sensible instead of driving off into silly insults. One doesn't have to be a prude to not want some drooling perv of a store security person to have access to pics/vids of our daughters and wives in the buff or even worse to post them onto a website - don't you agree "daddyof3"?

First of all this was meant as a silly reply not a silly insult. How you construe this as in insult is beyond me. If I offended you I do apologize though. No insult was intended. No where in my post do I mention children or wives. I said that I would show the camera MY backside. In fact the only "silly insult" I have seen in this thread thus far is you calling to question my parenting abilities with your use of quotation marks around my name. Just an FYI I have spent three weeks straight sitting beside my oldest son's hospital bed after his brain surgery. I coached youth wrestling for 4 years and have coached every single one of all three of my sons baseball teams. My children are the most important thing is the world to me. And the fact that you would like to call that into question is nothing but bad form in my book.
I think what mugsy was trying to say is that just because you yourself don't mind it, would it be ok to have your wife/kids on camera changing? When I searched this before posting a thread about it, first thing that came up was a video of women in a changing room in mexico. It was very personal.

I understand his point and even apologized for it. However it was nothing more than a silly reply. Not an insult. You asked what would YOU do in your OP. And I stand behind my first statement. I would show the camera where the good lord split me. Enough with this though this thread has been derailed enough.
Sorry daddyof3, I agree that your statement did indeed make it sound as if you thought only prudes would be against this. I personally would probably twist someone's head right off their body if I found out there was a camera in the dressing room either I, my wife or my son had used. Same goes for bathrooms. I KNOW the bathroom thing was stuck down by the courts, I'd find it hard to believe the dressing room wasn't.
Maybe I'm a prude, or maybe I'm just a modest person, in terms of not being one who shows a lot of skin in public, doesn't pee at the communal horse trough in bathrooms (another afront to privacy I find disturbing), etc.

Daddy of 3 - I didn't mean to insult either - I was concerned that you weren't considering that others (I used the example of wife/kids) might be compromised. I also didn't intend to call you a bad father - I have no basis for doing so - just to call back to the forefront of your mind that the question goes beyond you or me to include families.
Hope that adds some context to my earlier post.
