Prices on guns from dealers aren't any better at the show, however last year ammo was on pare with online prices and you saved on shipping. This year I guess I'll see.

The only good deals i have found at gunshows lately have come from kings guns out of cushing, all the rest of the dealers want more than retail

Kings guns had by far the best deals I saw at the show today. I bought a gun from them because of this. I would have bought 3, but my wife would have destroyed me if I'd have walked in the house with 3 new reasons for her to explode. They had XD 40s for like $390, way less than anyone else.

I'm pretty sure they had a 229 there also.

I have bought guns and other stuff from King's and they have good prices. Only advantage to buy online is you don't have to pay sales tax but have the
other fee's(transfer fee, shipping & handling etc.). So if the price is close I would buy from gunshow. Also you can handle the gun at the show.

if you had gone to a wanamacher show 20 years ago the prices were unbeatable. because the wholesalers would come and dump inventory at cost. Today it has gone completely the other way and dealers at shows seem to be pricing themselves out of reality. Its like 'lets put this crazy price on it and see if some fool will pay it'.

its kind of like; why would anybody pay $30 +tax for a 100 pack win white box 9mm.
when you can buy it at wally world for $22 a box any day of the week with no admission fee.
but you watch that big ammo dealer in the southwest corner and hundreds line up and pay it.

Now if you march around the show with a sign in your back saying "wanted sig 229r" some cash strapped private individual may approach you with a deal. I've done that on stuff I wanted and it worked pretty good.

good thing about gunshows is that you can get good deals from an individual looking to trade or sell what they have. i do remember a few years ago there were more good deals. i go with a general list of what i like and know the current selling prices in the area

Sportsworld always seems to have the lowest price.

And no, I'm not affiliated with Sportsworld, just impressed with their ability to offer such good deals.

You need to get out more.

In all seriousness, I used to drink the Sportsworld Kool-Aid as well. However, I have found much better deals both locally and online on any weapon I have looked to purchase in the past couple of years. And as my wife will tell you, that's a lot of guns. Not to mention the increase in customer service and overall experience.

To the OP, do your homework and you can find great deals out there both online and locally. If you buy online and need a transfer done locally, look up members Honeybee or reddog1. Either one are great guys and will take good care of you. If you are looking for a good deal at the big show, as previously mentioned your best bet is buying from an individual.

the only reason you guys are seeing better prices online is they sell 10x more than most vendors. Thats how they can undercut some people so much. Hell some of these places have things dropp shipped from factory and never touch product.

thats what happens when you order from buds, ctd or others, several times and the stuff comes in 2 or 3 days then all of a sudden an item takes 2 weeks. it got drop shipped.
