Get off my lawn.
Any rifle without mag in the name and lead core bullets should be fine at 100 yards with 3/8" or thicker AR500. We've shot the MGM auto poppers at 100 yards with .308 and it doesn't bother them.

Damn BB...tell us how you really feel!

**snip**

Education of their members is the answer here, not taking away the steel. I believe people at ussa who have shot the steel with inappropriate ammo have done so out of ignorance, not malice or a desire to "tear things up".

:tounge2: What? After all these years NOW you want me to start sugar-coating it?? LOL :fallangel

I've seen plenty of damage at the ranges I shoot at because folks think it is their God-given right to "tear up" some targets. I mean, after all, it's not their property that has to be replaced on a regular basis now is it??

You are right that education is at least part of the answer. However, there will always be morons who want to "tear up targets". There comes a point in time where it's just not economically feasible for a range to continue to offer a service that is abused and mistreated by a few irresponsible members. I'm sorry USSA has taken down their steel targets, but after working at a range for a couple of years I completely understand why they chose to do so.

There's always some idiot who messes things up for the rest of us. :smack:

(You need to come out of the woodwork more. I miss you guys!! :( )

Wow! Well "tear" was poor choice of words on my part and i apologize for the use of it. And if i have somehow personally offended you i apologize for that as well. My whole point is that i can shoot paper anywhere. I come to USSA because its a far superior range as far as im concerned. My only question is, why dont they put up signs saying they dont want certain calibers shot at certain ranges. (mostly the south carbine, everywhere else already has a sign stating pistol calibers only, ect) Now, the biggest caliber ive shot there was a 30-06. But knowing what i know now, i wont be doing that anymore, as i mostly just sight in AR15's there anyhow. But i really dont appreciate the way in which you responded to me. "NICE job ***** "

Wow, well "tear" was a poor choice of words. I took you at your word and you said you and the "nice guy" wanted to "tear targets up". I don't recall ever being personally offended by anything posted here. I was, however, aghast at your apparent disregard for the property of others. You said what you said, I said what I said ... I don't like folks who deliberately destroy other folks' property to satisfy thei. what's to be offended about?

Just for the record, I have no problem with you being offended in the way I responded. It's okay.

Welcome to OSA! :naughty:

Well, at least BB isn't opinionated Welcome to OSA, indeed.

Gotta side with BB on this one. Always leave the bay/lane you're renting in better condition than when you arrived. Treat property with respect. And report A-holes who are abusing said property to the proper authorities.

If you're fuzzy on the rules and regs, ask for clarification.

:tounge2: Agree with BB. Paying to tear up statement was pretty douchey. It's the self entitled attitude of some members who see bullet holes going through the steel and still keep shooting them up that ruins it for the rest of us members. Certainly not cool.

...oh and as a matter of courtesy please take your 50bmg guns to the 300 yard range. I have had the displeasure of shooting next to someone on south carbine shooting a Barrett (he was sighting in his scope on paper at 50 yards!!! SMH ). The muzzle blast was actually picking up open rifle bags with rifles on them!
According to the paperwork I have, 50 BMG is not permitted at all on the rifle ranges. Turn his ass in next time.
