I will be building a house on my river land in the next few years. It will without a doubt be total electric with generator back up. My parents did that with theirs about 12 years ago,you can't beat it.
What good is gas anyway without electric?
You you can cook on the stove... So what, open fire works too.
Open the oven to heat the house... Horrible idea!!!

I honestly see no real need for NG in a home if the home is set up right. My parents house is about the same size as mine (I'm gas furnace and hotwater heater) and their electric bill is less than my gas and electric combined year round.

Yup that was my biggest issue, my wife is home all day long and they never once knocked on the door. She said she saw the guy back there but assumed he was reading the meter.

Try working 35 days straight 15 to 20 hours a day until its all back up and working, Hate ice storms
