Well since I am at work I now see all the other posts. LOL. but still turn them off as they can hurt your credit score also as every time one of those letters is sent they can pull that score. Some of them will send multiple letters to get your score down so they can charge more interest.

Those are entertainment for me. I remove anything with my name and address on them and put everything in their free postage envelope and send it back to them.

Or even better . . Tape it to a brick! I had a friend in Texas that used to do that. Cost the spammers several bucks....

You have to accept the offer to change a credit score since it's considered revolving credit you could use. Now if
you cancel a credit card that you've been using that can cause a hit to ones credit score.

Not true at all. You have to give consent for a lender to pull your score. When you voluntary ask a lender to pull your credit history when applying for loans/credit that will lower your score. However, when a lender whom you already have an open line of credit with peaks at your history from time to time just to see if everything is dandy it does not hurt your score. Of course negative occurrences with your line of credit will impact your score.

I do the same with those magazine inserts...I write "no thanks" and drop them in the mail...it costs them about $2.50 for each card returned.
