I forget which movie it is from, but the quote "it is in your nature to destroy yourselves" comes to mid.....terminator 2, if I remember correctly. Anyway, it is a sad thing that it seems to be happening so much. I wonder though if it is because of the meda that we believe it iis happening more often now. Before mass media, I'm sure things like this happened just as frequently, it just wasn't heard about as much. Maybe the belief evil doers that they will get off easier for heir crimes? Who knows.......

And I think little to no fear of consequences. I see people all the time who break the law, abuse themselves and others, treat others like dirt, have no concern for the rights or comfort of others, an expectation of entitlement, etc., and have absolutely no consequences.
Spent about 5 hours last night wrestling with a drunk/stoned 15 y/o who did nothing but spit, curse and abuse everyone around him, including his parents. Never mind the elderly American veteran 3 feet to his left (same room) who was having an active heart attack and no relief from this spectacle of scumbaggery. And mom and dad just patted him on the head the whole time and told him, "Now, you weren't raised this way, why are you being like this?" Walked out later and headed home, probably to a nice hot cup of cocoa and getting his little ass tucked into bed. My kid woulda required surgery for removal of a foot in an orifice...
Shoot up a place and kill a bunch of people, and you know you're going to sit awaiting trial for YEARS, and even if found guilty, have many many more years of life before any sentence might be carried out, all while being allowed to sue for cable TV and a balanced diet. Look at Nidal Hassan... 3 YEARS later, and they're just fighting over making this maggot shave his beard for his trial???? REALLY????
