I do think Craig brings backs the original intent of Bond. A seriously depressed person that is on edge and kicks ass at his job. He plays that part of it better than any body else has. I still like Connery the best. He might not be the best but he is my favorite.

Craig is good but he is no Connery. Sean Connery played the role as Ian Fleming wrote it suave, debonaire, a ladykiller, and, when needed, a killer of men as well.
Mr Craig is good but has a little too much street brawler and a tad too little sophistication.
Pierce Brosnan wasn't bad either.
Either was much better than Roger Moore, George Lazenby, or Timothy Dalton.

I see Craig as a different Bond than Connery. The Bond he plays appeals to me more so therefore he's better. I've always enjoyed the Bond movies, but since the Bond reboot with Casino Royale I've enjoyed the Bond movies more than ever. They're grittier, more human and more realistic to me. But, more importantly, for the first time in my life I've watched a Bond film and wished I was as badass as he is.
