Well, with around 50mil households that own firearms those swat guys are going to get real tired, real quick. Even if only 1% of households put up a fight or made them work for it, that would still be 5mil households. Not going to happen this way (door to door confiscations).

Nice thought, but a large percentage of weapons are in the homes of elderly people, or people that don't have the stomach to stand in the front yard screaming, "take it from my cold dead hands"

Nobody in Katrina resisted one bit. That will give you an idea on how much resistance there will be.

Dennis, correct me if I'm wrong, and I very well may be, but isn't that part of Louisana vastly Democratic? Not saying it should matter, but I believe that it does matter. I'm just not sure that comparing Katrina to a nationwide confiscation is apples to apples.

Nobody was prepared for Katrina either.

Are you prepared for an overwhelming force coming through your front door?

Folks knew Katrina was coming for days. Yes, they couldn't foresee the dikes breaking , but there
Was advance notice about gun confiscation. Granted most didn't have available communication as power was out, but a lot of folks knew, and gave them up without a fight. In fact, not one person died resisting the gun confiscation. One little grandma got slapped around, but in the end they got her gun.

If it ever comes down to confiscation there will be a lot of dead law enforcement. There are too many people that wouldn't let it happen. Hopefully it never comes to that. I honestly don't think they will ever come knocking on peoples doors. Like another said, they will find another way to take them. You scenario was a good thought though. And that is how it would go down if you were arrested. But it still makes me worried though how no one in NO stood up to the illegal confiscations that were being done. And in 1994 for as well. I don't remember anyone standing up and resisting that ban. It makes me think, why would it be any different this time? But hopefully people are really weighing the seriousness of this ban and the rest of the proposed legislation. We have a lot more at stake than we did in 94. This legislation is way worse. We simply cannot afford to let our guard down. We must all stick together. And should the unwanted happen, we must be ready to fight for our rights.

I really don't think that the govt. confiscating law abiding citizens firearms had ever crossed most of those people's minds until it happened. Now most people know they are willing to do it.

Oh yeah, it's a liberal area, but surely there were some conservatives in the crowd willing to fight and die for the cause.
I'm sorry to be sounding so negative as I'm the ultimate supporter of our 2nd amendment, but I'm also blessed with a lot of information from past gun confiscation here and in other parts of the world.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, but will bet I'm not.
