What do they fall under? Just to clarify I see no issue with owning guns for novelty purposes.

I would rather use an AR for HD over a shotgun but that's another thread.

Self defense. I'm not worried if you have an issue with novelty guns or not. :D Just relaying that outside of opinion, they are quite versatile.

They are and I don't knock what people choose to do with them. I used to have a bunch of guns that I owned just for the fun of shooting. Then I sold everything except my G19 and AR, decided I'd rather spend the money I was spending on guns for ammo and training. Funds are picking up though and I plan to pick up some novelties soon

Speaking of training, try taking a shotgun course. You'll be surprised what a well run shotgun can do.

I'm welllllllll aware what a shotgun can do, although ill admit never taking a shotgun training course. Given the option though I'd rather grab my AR, the 5.56 will become 300blk SBR fairly soon. I enjoyed my FN TPS as it had the same ergos of an AR. However it had to go when I needed some scratch. Another TPS is in my future though and will be loaded with HD rounds although Ill still be grabbing the AR. YMMV

I do love shooting shotguns though, I especially loved my Ithaca featherweight with no disconnector

He says "I'll never own a shotgun" then he says there are two in his house. his sons and the one his dad gave him (ergo, he is the new owner - doesn't matter if he purchased it or it was inherited. he owns it)

double speak = automatically discounted.

I own my grandfathers old Winchester 1887. I have fired and hunted with the gun years ago. Will never fire it again. It is an heirloom, a memento, it is now property. Because I will never shoot it it is no longer a gun.

Here, but occasionally There.
Interesting story, but I came away with two thoughts.

One, this individual has just ruled himself to be totally uninterested in buying my handguns, for two reasons. One is a Glock 23C in .40 caliber, and the other is also .40 caliber, although not a Glock.

However, as for the AK-47, I'll differ with one of his comments...

...communists aren't ALL bad....

Didn't want a Glock, almost bought one.
Didn't like ARs, now the wife and I both have one.

So maybe I would never buy:
1. Anything chambered funky (6.5 Creedmor, anything Weatherby, 28ga, or WSMs)
2. A new (post-2000) Remington
3. Anything that costs more than I make a month (so Noveske, Daniel Defense, or any other boutique brand)
4. A revolver
5. Single or double shot shotgun

That'll probably all change in 5 years...
