nofear - My comment was meant to be salted with sarcasm, I also own several hoodies and remove the hood when I enter a business. I also don't like wearing the hood while I am driving because it impairs my peripheral vision.

I got ya, its all good. Was just ranting like my usual BS...

I have told a story here before about being pulled over once while wearing a hoody driving. I will re-tell later as it is pertinent to the subject at hand.

There is a bank on North May that has a sign as you enter that tells you to remove your hat and sunglasses. I would imagine that would include hoodies. It's like a "No Shirt? No Shoes? No Service!" only backwards. "Got Hat? Got Sunglasses? No Service!"

This whole thing is stupid and a waste of time/resources to even run through the legislative system. The media has made it sound like hoodies will be illegal. Which is not what the bill states.

Reading the bill, it says you can't wear the hood to conceal your identity while committing a crime. The stupid thing is that it's already illegal to conceal your identity while committing a crime whether it's a hood, ball cap, sunglasses, etc. But, if you're committing a crime, then why would you care?

Also, the bill states exceptions such as it's ok to wear the hood for protection from the weather. Whew...I'm glad the politicians gave us permission for that. :P

The senator that authored this has done nothing more than get his name on a bill to make himself feel good. It's stupid and wasteful, and he needs voted out. There are a lot more important issues that need to be worked on.

I see your point Nofear and I think your rant has substance. I worked at a place with this guy that was always dressed nice, he was funny, clean shaven, and a very pleasant person. Everyone was shocked to learn that the reason he stopped coming to work all of a sudden was because of something he did to a child. He went to the pokey for it, but I don't think I ever heard him tell a story about being pulled over by LEO's because he was dressed suspiciously or his lack of tattoos were suspicious, but he had stories about speeding to get to work on time. It just goes to show that the clothes don't make the criminal, especially these days where people want to be comfortable instead of in a stuffy get up. Hell, I wear beach walkers, a wife beater shirt, and swimming trunks in the winter some times when I go out to eat. If I've been in a pair of coveralls for a 12 hour shift at work, I might look crazy dressed for summer after that shift (and I've had people tell me I am nuts because i'm in shorts in 40 degree weather) but i'm not crazy, i'm crazy comfortable. LOL.
I was told the hoodie amendment is trying to be added into an existing law that was written over a 100 years ago as a probable cause scenario, like with scarfs and hats. There is something in the books about altering your appearance by using clothing during protests and stuff like that. I think we might be safe as long as we aren't concealing our identity with the hood on when we walk in to a bank or a walmart in 90 degree weather. The media just caught wind of the whole hoodie thing. No pen has been put to paper yet. It was just an idea that the media withheld info on to get a stir, from the people, like they always do. Think about this: Since Skip retired from the news station in Texas, the weather is all lies these days and the weather forecasts now fall in line with alot of the other portions of the broadcasts!

In 93' or so I decided to visit my dad down in Plano/Dallas on my way home to CA after a visit to OK. I had gone to Tulsa to see my mom then my plan was to go down to big D and see my dad and his wife, kids before going back out to CA. I owned a Firebird, 2 Japanese RWD cars and 2 4x4s. I took my Nissan 280ZX because of gas mileage. It was winter but nice in CA when I left and naturally it was cold as F in OK especially w/o a heater, I usually bypassed em in my cars cause no need for one usually in CA, the trucks I took up northern CA skiiing so they had heaters but I wanted to drive a car if I was going to make a 4k mile round trip. I was about a mile or so south of Glenpool on hwy 75 when out of nowhere 3 or 4 LEO cars came up and surrounded me with their emergency lights on- OHPs, a county, and Glenpool PD. I pulled over super quick. They all jumped out with guns drawn on me. I almost shat myself. I had a hoody pulled up over a stocking cap from under a big coat and gloves on. When they ripped open my doors I turned and looked right at the first officer to my left when he yelled to the other guys, "O man, its a blonde lookin dude", then as quick as they came up they all just went and got in their cars and took off. I have no idea what had happened but they sure werent lookin for a 'blonde lookin dude'. In a hoody.
