I am trying to fix my credit too. Had alot of problems happen when I became an addict a few years ago. I had good credit and so did my wife. Now it is pathetic. Like around a 581. I have over $20000 in student loans and have a repo. Have a couple of credit cards and over $100,000 in medical bills. So at this point I don't even care anymore. Every time I think about it it makes me sick to my stomach. I want my own house but that is out of reach and will be probably until I am in my 40's. Tried to file chapter 7 but make too much money. And there ain't no way I would do the the other one. Wish there was something we could do but there ain't. Just trying to pay good on the few things we have.

Hey, don't fret it ... I was 41 when I bought my house. Rented from the time I moved out of my parent's house at 18 until then. It's like an elephant sandwich ... for what it's worth, and I don't personally recommend it for several reasons, but it IS possible to get a mortgage and buy a house while you are in Chapter 13 bankruptcy ... check with your attorney ...

I don't consider myself wealthy but I'm approching the 1M mark. I have a good job, have saved well and use a credit card almost every day. I just got my new Citi Double Cash Back card a few weeks ago.

LOL, HAHA! The flight is free!! If you make $40K and get enough miles accumulated, its FREE! Anybody can afford FREE.
Well the flight is free but opnce you land you better have some money. I was in a position like this years ago where it wouldnt have mattered if the travel was free, I couldnt afford the vacation itself. Now days, people who make $40k a year are barely buying the groceries and paying the light bill. They can't afford a trip involving hotels, eating out or tickets to Disney for a family of 5. Free flight or not.

What
Willingness has very little to do with debt, which is a legal obligation.

The hospital example is one, but 'co-signing' is much more common. Or a business partnership. Or a marriage.

The bottom line is: if someone you're legally bound to decides to go ape and rack up debt or damages or they get sued, you are commonly bound as culpable for them also.

Never in my life have I heard a wealthy person say they profited from CC rewards. I know a few and follow several. Wealthy people do NOT have CCs. lmfao.
but okay.

Being "Wealthy" is all relative, but your statement is moronic...Did you just make that up?

Bottom line, whats your net worth? What you own minus what you owe.
Anyone?

MULTIPLES of yours.

I agree with about 80% of your points, but your condescending regurgitation of what you think Dave Ramsey would say comes off very poorly.

He has a stance that needs to cover the masses, so it is very generic guidance; you're writing on here like you're some sort of Financial Wizard.

People can successfully use CC for percentage back...I am like S4F and get in the neighborhood of $10,000 cash annually back from my AmEx Blue cash card. I redeem the points back directly into credit and I never carry a balance.

I believe in being debt free and only buy things that I can literally pay "cash" for - even real estate. I own 12 houses in Edmond and all are clear and am always tempted by 'good deals' that I run across but miss out due to the fact that I don't always have the cash to buy. Debt is the enemy of wealth but at no point do I believe that MY way is the only way for one to become wealthy (Wealthy in my book starts at $5M worth)...

I understand, you're a sad little boy with an inferiority complex...

...and a Brodozer!

Seriously, why wouldn't you care what I have to say (I think you meant "I couldn't give 2 ***** what you think)?

This is a thread about finances and I've outperformed you on EVERY SINGLE parameter you can measure regarding finances. I listen to all advice when it comes from people that are doing better than I am in a specific field, that's how we get better.
