Welcome to OK! OKCHunter has you pointed in a good direction. While we don't have BML land here, the Wildlife Management areas fulfill the need for public shooting areas. Some ranges are better than others. Private ranges are the way to go though.

Hi and welcome. Since you're in Jenks, nearest public would probably be the WMA in Okmulgee or the Corps of Engineers land along the Arkansas River in Sand Springs. If you want to just shoot and you don't mind spending $10 you really can't beat Happy Hollow in Sapulpa; http://www.happyhollowgunrange.com

thanks for the info on the range , so if i understand correctly if i go to wma and just practice shoot ( i dont hunt ) i,ll need a hunting lic and this will only be available in hunting seasons correct ? thanks .

you just need a hunting license to shoot on the wildlife area ranges. the license is good for a year and the ranges are open all year
