Perhaps my biggest complaint is that this contest, while totally legal etc, really only setup to put people in harms way. It'd be one thing for her to stand outside and guard the doors. But that job generally falls to someone who is just working for a living (be it security guard, door man, cop, whatever).

I know she has the right to do these things, but i'm troubled by who is put in harms way because it probably isn't her.

Anyone in "Harms Way" in this or other such events is there by choice.

So Gellar should take her act overseas before a huge bomb blows misguided people up.

Great idea. Why not placate the Islamic “true believers” with no freedom of speech?!? And why stop there? Why not take it to banning pork in Pink and make it OK to “beat women like cattle” or throw some homos off a building or two? Because you are right ... we don’t want to upset some bent Muslims who might try to run a plane into a building or lop some infidel’s head off at work just because someone had a set of balls and dared to disagree with their religious mandate … would we?

Why capitulate on one right when you can get a whole wheel of cheese when you surrender them all? Brilliant idea.

As to elements of Islam blowing up misguided people, I think they are counting on us having enough people with their heads ass deep in sand to make that easy for them. Like “Carl” said, they “don’t even have to have a reason.”

Because it's not really that hard not to instigate trouble. You may be ok with great big bombs blowing up and killing innocents......but I'd rather Gellar n her ilk to go to middle east and hold cartoon contests.

I think avoiding speech for fear of provoking terrorists into action only serves their cause. If it's not muhammad, it's something else. No one was drew a picture of him on the twin towers, on the Pentagon, or in the middle of a field in Pennsylvania. No amount of pacification will stop them.

In my opinion, the show was important and of real value.

It was defiance against the radical Muslims that want to impose their radical code of justice on us without our permission in violation of the 1st amendment.

Depiction of Mohammed is punishable by death if drawn in a cartoon.

Now, some of the politically correct say our Muslim allies may not want to join with us if a private event is held like his one, yet Saudi's confiscate bibles at their border.

The Politically Correct are so busy trying to figure out how to not be offensive to any government/religion, that they have forgotten to remember what is offensive to Americans.

Namely those who would trample on our core ideals.

In America, we stand for liberty and freedom to provoke, to persuade, and to defy.

What you posted here and what Woody posted at 7:23pm today is in the proverbial x-ring.

I don't think anyone is placating Muslims or avoiding free speech. Nobody on this board went to the cartoon show.

It doesn't serve any good whatsoever to draw cartoons that's ment as an insult. Its same with burning a flag.....burn it on the Capitol steps if ya want, but burning a flag in street by Hoddy s house is gonna illicit a response ya might not want.

Nobody on this board can give a good legitimate reason for doing what Gellar did......there's no good reason for it, other than putting people's lives in danger.

Its a douche move on anyone's part to attempt incite a bunch of people who have no problems building a bomb big enough to destroy a city block.

If people of Gellar ilk keep on screwing around, there will be another Murrah type event......it's needless and pointless.
