Or be put in jail? Oh wait that only applies to people that disagree because of their religious beliefs. I still can not believe that I, who does not believe in organized religion at all, am one who has to argue for the rights of the religious people.

Seriously no matter what the anti-religious bunch here say, this is just beginning and the court cases will go on for years.

I guess its your burden Rick.

The original issue being forced to do something contrary to her religious beliefs, how exactly is that analogy a red herring?

There is a free exercise of religious freedom in the US for almost all practical purposes. The government does not issue permits or licenses - you may assemble to worship as you choose.

Yep, and I bet if she had stopped issuing marriage licenses until gay marriage was legal they would be singing her praises instead of demonizing her. I know damn good and well the left and media would have been.

I will say that if gay marriage had been legal when she ran for office and she pulled this you guys would be correct in demonizing her. It was not and people's beliefs do not change just because the law does.

She's still free to say "I believe this office is required to do wrong" and resign. Apparently, that $80k/year salary, benefits, and power to refuse filings is more attractive to her.

I believe that Connecticut passed a law requiring the registration of assault rifles but the police refused to enforce it. Should they be fired?

So you're comparing officers who refuse to violate constitutional rights to an elected court clerk that insists in violating civil rights? Would you also mind comparing my Chevy pick-up to my niece's little pink electric scooter? I've always wondered what the performance difference is in the two vehicles.

I have to admit that having to defend a Democrat makes my mouth hurt but watching the meltdown by liberals on Facebook because of this "Evil Republican Woman" is highly amusing. They really get ticked when I say he is just following the examples set by the heads of her party, Obama and Hillary.

So all those officials who held office before the CRA should have been allowed to keep on enforcing Jim Crow laws?

as an elected official, her electors need to start impeachment against her and if and i say IF she is impeached then replace her through the election of another. and then if the people elect another just like her. well i guess the people will have spoken. the judge in this matter needs to answer to his voters also.

Obama picking and choosing which laws should be enforced trumps (pardon the pun) all y'all's examples because it is real not hypothetical.

When the chief law enforcement officer of the nation, an elected official, openly flaunts laws is it surprising that other officials follow in his footsteps?
