Went and refilled my feeders today and on the way back I took the back roads home and noticed the deer were out early. They were out in the wheat fields around 3:00 and saw a nice, heavy 8 pt out with a group of does. And noticed in one of the wheat fields about 3 miles from the house that there was a dead deer about 300 yds from the road, so I informed the local GW of the location to take a look at.

Looked at my cards this evening, 95% nocturnal. Dinks and does in the pics. Biggest group of screwed up racks I've ever seen. Spikes, forky's with one side flopping down, tines curled backwards. Weird.

My observation this evening Sitting on hill scouting watching food plot, corn & rice bran. I got there at 4pm there was already doe & 2 fawns in food plot eating corn. 30 mins later a doe came running in like she was being chased. she jumped the fence run a couple circles in food plot and then left running. a few mins later a fork buck came in acted like he was trying to sneak up on the doe as soon as she flagged and let him know she seen him he lefted her alone walked straight over to the rice bran took a couple bites and left. He no longer had got out of sight and he come the the running doe from the opposite direction she done the same thing made a couple circles and running then left. little later 3 more does and fawns came in. then right at dark 3 small bucks arrive at the same time from different directions they chased the does off and went to eating corn they took turns eating rice bran. while I was there I never seen any of the does eat any rice bran. But every buck ate a little of it. I still find this weird but I see it over and over. most of the time there is 10 to 15 doe on this place of evening I don't know if they are hiding from bucks or the cattle have them scared off as the neighbors 5 cows have been hanging around they know exactly what time the feeder(not my feeder) goes off they get there about 15 mins before it goes off and wait on it

I'm showing a mix of bucks and does eating the bran before pre rut.

Now I'm showing nothing but does on the bran. Put 5 gal of corn on the pile today when picking up the SD cards. TONS of coyote pics going back and forth. I'm guessing that 1500 pound bull that died and got dragged into the field might account for that. Looking forward to taking a few of them out.

The coyotes seem to like the bran more than the deer at my places, got some out in 3 counties...................I'll be trapping nearby by bran piles soon.
