It was a black boy. Are we sure on the mother?

Her voice has me picturing her as white, stringy dirty blonde hair, moderately overweight, excercise shorts, tourist t-shirt from a vacation to Florida in 2005. Probably drinking a 44oz or larger soda. Maybe an energy drink. That's just what she sounds like.

One of the dumbest questions ever on OSA...

Sorry that you think it was s dumb question. Lots of people think it could have been handled differently. I'm of the opinion that the right decision was made. Sad, but it was the only way to guarantee the safety of the child. Why do you say it's a dumb question, if I may ask?

I stand corrected on the Half n Half......

I'll say this about handling it differently. To me, a good amount of fault lies with the Zoo having an enclosure that would allow any possible access from a toddler, no matter how mobile he was. The decision to shoot the gorilla wasn't a bad one, they are unpredictable in the best of circumstances, and when a silverback encounters an intruder you have NO idea what will happen. Throw in the stress of the environment and the child could've been killed in an instant. Sure, you could've drugged him but that would've made things possibly worse as that would allow for even more unpredictable behavior as even humans don't make the best of decisions while under drugs.
