Second year asparagus started up today. Cant wait until next year. Going to try and wait till third year to harvest. Vegetable gardening is kind of like fishing, Almost everyone likes to do it even if they don't. LoL
Our garden is 70' X 40'. Planted my seeds last week and went to Attwoods for one of the small green houses they had on sale. Noticed some heads popping out of the pots yesterday.
I've got 16 tomato plants, mostly heirloom varieties, and some jet star. Spaghetti squash, 15 red, green, yellow bell peppers and 4 jalapeño mild variety.
I get a soul sample analyzed every year to see what the soil needs.

Sorry to see the wind got ya!!! Think I am going to add to my 5'x8'Our asparagus patch is 4' wide and 60' long. Some of the crowns are 25 years old. The newest are 10 or so years old. The Jersey Giants do the best. We get about 1-2 lbs a day at the peak of harvest.
Wow, that's awesome, we love asparagus.. Bummer to see the green house, had one much like it years back and suffered the same exact fate one spring..Our asparagus patch is 4' wide and 60' long. If it's your first time, anything edible is a success...Wouldn't a better question be "who gardens successfully?"
