I would ask if you could fix my late grandfather's wall clock, but that sucker bongs every hour loud enough to wake the neighbors.
You get used to it. When in High School, mom brought home a mantle clock that Great Grandma had when she passed. Had two main springs to wind every week. The thing dinged on the half hour, and chimed one time for every hour. At noon and midnight that thing was chiming forever!
Kept us up at night for a while, but eventually, we got used to it and didn't consciously hear it anymore.

I was issued one of those Bulova watches in the early sixties and it broke it and I got a Benrus and still have it stashed in a drawer. I put a quartz movement in a watch today and had a heck of a time putting the second hand back on, I think I worked half an hour and finally it was on!
