I'd think the practicality of locking everything up at night depends on the size of the inventory. :anyone:
We had about 150-200 handguns on trays that slid into the safe.
100+ longguns and 20-30 mg's that went into a walk-in vault.
Took us about 10-15 minutes each morning and evening.

That is like saying she deserved to be raped because she wore a short skirt

An organization I serve in is going to be putting on this exhibit as a traveling art exhibit next year throughout the state. We currently have agreements with RSU for all three campuses (twice at different locations on the main campus) and are negotiating with Wesleyan. If anyone has any contacts for other universities in Oklahoma, we are looking to keep this exhibit moving throughout the state for some time. Would really love to get a chance at OU or OSU, just don't have any personal contacts there.

Just thought I'd throw this in to increase awareness.

Were any of them wearing an inside the pants holster? Will any of them be in the display as a deterrent to assault?

Blame the store owners, rather than the thieves? Interesting take.

Not quite, but if you have that kind of firepower and you don’t at least try and keep it secure .....Bsically I think many of us have some culpability for there safe storage. I don’t know if we have laws to this effect just speaking from common sense.

I mean I don’t think any of us with an arsenal just leave them out readily available for thieves to break in an steal them. I mean if they defeat your security and safes you the owner did your due diligence to keep them secured. But a simple smash and grab shouldn’t have been that easy.

Why not?

Even the DHS doesn't require the amount of security that you're talking about for chemicals that can be used for mass destruction.

A locked door will only keep the honest folks out, thieves will steal an SUV and drive through two wall to get what they want

You need to travel to the http://luxfirearms.com/
and see what a real gun shop should look like with proper security.
Then get back to me.

Lol, I am assuming you mean Homeland Security not OK DHS...... and I think we both know chemical storage facilities are afforded priority response from the police. And I know some companies even go above and beyond when securing dangerous chemicals knowing government regs are inadequate, or they quit selling those plating products if whcih I am sure you are speaking of it’s difficult to smash and grab drums of HF etc ....

Just driving through someones store front is pretty simple, some buildings are more secure then others and and those rhat are not secure should seriously consider putting inventory i safes. For all we know this was Antifa or Islamic Jihadi’s arming themselves could you honestly rest comfortably knowing you didn’t take the simple step of securing your weapons in a safe? and that’s they were stolen by terrorists and uses to commit a massacre? Or stolen by ANTIFA and used in similar fashion? I personally don’t own more guns because I need more safes.

I know it’s not the law , but I do think it’s prudent to keep your weapons in a safe. I don’t think it rises to the level of negligence, but one day it may. (Full disclosure .....I don’t sell gun safes for a living lol)

I personally believe in keeping my dirty black assault rifles with high capacity mags and their chainsaw bayonets in a safe when not in use:laugh6:
