I don’t get it; what are we SUPPOSED to do?

I don’t think anyone really likes or wants to see children separated from their parents. But when someone commits a crime, as in entering this country illegally, what can we do? It’s like if you rob a bank, you go to jail, and your kids don’t get to stay with you. What’s the big difference? What are we supposed to do with children when their parents commit a crime by illegally entering this country? It seems to me the simple answer is to not commit the crime! So where am I missing the boat? It seems to me that some of the super-liberals want to let all these people just come into the country illegally and stay, and we tax payers get to foot the bill. I just don’t get it. Don’t come in illegally and you won’t lose your kids! What the heck is wrong with people?

Many of them knew what the risks were about separations before they even crossed our borders but they either didn't believe it or didn't care. Either way they are being treated far more delicately than if they tried crossing into N Korea, Iran or even China illegally.

I agree 100% If you commit a crime and your kid is with you are you both going to sit in the jail cell together? Well maybe in India but not here.

To add to this they are wanting to abolish immigrations and customs, like that is going to make things better for the world.

While we are figuring out what to do, these kids have a warm dry place to sleep and a full belly. I'm gonna guess the way they are being treated may be some of the best treatment they've ever seen. I think some folks have a mental picture of a bunch of our American kids (most of which take the simplest things for granted) in those "confinement spaces".

You're not missing anything. Democrats have found a emotional niche to exploit right before the elections. After the elections you'll see media interest in little Jose and Maria drop significantly.

Americans can have their children taken away for having a filthy house, having a neighbor say they saw the kids disciplined harshly, letting them walk home from school, or for being home-schooled, without due process. Where's all the outrage for American families?

I have zero sympathy for people who don't belong in this country and come here illegally. Round em up, split em up, grind em up, I don't care. We are not responsible for Central and South America's poor.
