I wanted to go to the red river and walk and hunt hogs today.
Seems no one on the WMA has mowed the tall grasses and all this rain made for tough walking through the woods.
Tougher for some than others. I am used to walking a lot and had no issues.
He bitched cursed and moaned as i took the long way back through thick cover.. seen a lot of spots where hogs bedded down and visited very recently.

On the way out my buddy threw up 2 times.. said his legs could no longer lift his feet. Curse words, yelling BS. F this.
I do not think he will be joining me for a hunt any time soon.
We are both 50 years old and I kind of feel sorry for him.

Maybe he will recover and man up for a good walk while dragging 150 lbs of game behind you to the truck. Maybe not.

That folding over puking and saying I need to rest kind of sucks I suppose.
He used to work out at the gym all the time and took me once..I do not work out.
No time for that.

So if you guys get a greenhorn ya might take the easy path and not trudge through 4 foot tall fields. not to mention logs and downed trees and poison ivy etc etc.

I had a similar situation mountain biking. I asked my buddy to goto the doctor afterwards as he was always in better shape than me and they found a blockage in one of his arteries. At 50 life is more than half over for most.

I almost loaded back up and headed back out as soon as I got home.
I did toss one fishing line out in the red river with 2 hooks and 4oz sinker and baited with night crawlers.
Tied the power pro braid to a stump and went hunting.
When it was time to leave I went and checked the line and had a 4 LB blue cat on.
It is in the sink on ice. That will be dinner.

I was a little sweaty but not worn out and no huffin and puffin happening.. it was just walking. yea in thick stuff on flat land no less. No mountains.

I go right past Norman on the way there Dave70968.
I really like to go when the wind is 20 MPH or more that way you can sneak up on them. calm like today and no movement in the woods except you is a bit hard to be sneaky.

Make sure to check for ticks - I've seen more tick fever this year than ever before (Rocky Mountain and Ehrlichiosis, no Lyme this year), even 2 cases of freaking TULAREMIA. Holy crap.

Check that sack, man....

Thanks tRidiot.
Every time I go into the woods I spray with 25% deet I pull up my pants legs and spray socks and my boots then my leag and let pant legs down and spray them.
Sprayed my neck front and back.
Many times I lift my shirt and spray around midsection.
So far no ticks this year have got me.
I want to keep it that way.
