If your going to OC, be sure to wear your concealed carry badge on your hip right next to the gun. It will make people much more easy around you.

No matter the method of carry, what bothers me is that someone that was carrying , was with his family and escalated a situation. In terms of the method of carry conversation, I'm in the open carry is "not my preference" crowd. Seems like people think it's a deterrent whereas it's a point of attack. Gives someone else the advantage IMO.

Hahaha... I've got to get one of those for my dad as a joke Christmas gift. Maybe with a neck lanyard thing like the undercover guys on TV.

... but I feel maybe as a fellow 2A guy maybe I should have pointed out his error, but then again it is just my opinion and I do not know this guy or his level of maturity.

What do you folks think.

To stick with your question and leave aside the OC vs concealed stuff. No, you were correct to not point out his error. "Being a fellow 2A guy" doesn't give you license to accost a random person on the side of the road, in front of his family, with your opinion or thoughts on his behavior. If he was an acquaintance or family member, then maybe the subject could be brought up in a private setting, but that's not the case here.

It, IMHO, is good that you chose to observe and share the story as a vignette for a broader discussion instead.

I, too, choose not to OC because I like the element of 'surprise.' Maybe I'm wrong. None of us are infallible. I DO know that I have witnessed people who OC and it is absolutely not an issue. Hardly even notice. I have also seen those who apparently OC because they think it makes them look like hot $h1t, tough stuff ... strutting like a bantam rooster, making a point of showing it off. That doesn't help ... anybody ... IMHO.
