Here, but occasionally There.
The greatest football player Oklahoma has ever produced is Barry Sanders and you won't see him selling reverse mortgages.

This is true lol

Don't be so sure of that...

...who knows what said ex football player will do when he gets older. Just like some Hollywood celebrities, he may run out of his "retirement" money and need a job hocking all kinds of things.

Sanders has been retired for some time and he's well off and knows how not to run out of money lol

I think we always assume that black athletes are cretins who can't figure out how to manage money.
At this point, I see no reason to confuse Barry Sanders with Tom Selleck.

I'm hesitant to jump into this, because I know I'll regret getting into what is just a dumb argument. But no one has ever accused me of being smart.

I'm an OU fan, but I will agree that Barry Sanders was an incredible football player (as were all of those recently mentioned).

It's pretty much impossible to make any kind of objective comparison of people who played on different teams, in different eras, and especially at different positions. If I HAD to pick the best overall player of those who have been listed, I'd probably go with Lee Roy Selmon. I'd also toss Billy Simms, Joe Washington, Brian Bosworth and maybe Marcus Dupree into the mix, although we didn't see nearly enough of Dupree to honestly put him in the same category. His potential though was incredible. Sanders definitely has a place in this discussion, though, and you can make a good case for him.

From what I've heard, if I could choose one of them that I could be personal friends with, it would probably be Sanders. He just seems to be a very genuine, nice man... who also accomplished some incredible things on the football field. It's fair to say that he was extremely productive on some not very good teams.

To give Pumpkin State University :) their due, I'd also include Leslie O'Neal, Thurman Thomas, Rashaun Woods, and Terry Miller as honorable mention... and maybe James Washington. Along with all of those mentioned in the last couple of pages, those were some scary good players.

There is a VERY rich history of great players, from both schools.
