Ford Voluntarily participated and are in full production from what I read.
Now here is a mask you can trust. Just like with vehicles, Ford will mop the floor with GM on these masks.
Ford is doing ventilators from what I understand. There are others doing the masks.
As far as I'm concerned GM owes us (taxpayers). We may get stimulus check but that is ours-our money and we don't owe the government anything for it because we are the government according to the Constitution. If a company can't make it on their own, they deserve to wither on the vine and die because their products are their problem, not ours.
It was GM's stupidity and unions that led to the gov buyout. Their pension plan that let folks retire after 20 years with full benefits was so underfunded that it took the corporation down. Some analysts said that almost 10% of a new vehicle purchase was to cover the pension plan costs and that still wasn't enough.
Other car manufacturers saw that coming before GM and took measures to modify their pension plans so they didn't need an obama bailout. Then obama basically fired the GM of chevy if you think the gov didn't own them at one time.
Part of the stimulus package approved by nancy and upchuck included protections for the very unions that brought GM down.
Is it still in there? I don't know. The 800 page bill of legalese had to be passed to see what was in it.

Well, GM wasn't alone. Chrysler Corp. also never paid back everything.
I’ve suspected all along that this situation would be manipulated to create increased opportunities for American corporations to start up new business opportunities. With the increasing cases of importation of defective Chinese products being reported and the influx of corporate welfare recently being passed this will likely end up being the modern version of WPAs.
I won't buy GM because of their grab at federal funds. At one time the term "Fisher Body" many a lot but no more... And Chrysler never did make a really good car, they got by and when they bought out Jeep everyone knew that the "new' Jeeps were not going to be the quality of the Willys Jeep which has lengthy history namely, WWII.
