It is true that they tended to debunk some credible UFO accounts, but to be fair, even the USAF said that a few UFO sightings could not be explained by conventional means. One of my neighbors when I lived in Seattle was an air force veteran and he told me that he had been part of a team when he was on the service that investigated UFO's and if this is true, then at one time the military took them seriously.

One of my interests besides firearms is anomalous phenomena and when I check them out, I always look to see if what appears to be, well, odd can be explained by conventional
means first.

Being alone in space isn't unlikely, but traveling "vast space" is IMO pretty unlikely. Unless they can jump in and out of a worm hole like Eleanor Arroway, I just don't buy it.
