I'm standing by my thought that the Democrat's election play is for the Vice-President's position.
If by chance Biden gets elected to POTUS and serves two years before stepping down, the VP finishes the term but is still eligible for two more terms making a total of 10 years, so yes, Biden's choice (it actually won't be Biden who chooses, it will be the DNC) is incredibly important to the dims.
