Just to follow up on this one. Whoever printed the Priority label, probably the window clerk or person mailing it at an APC machine, entered the zip of 73109 instead of 73103. Machines do a really good job of sorting, to the zip code on the label. It went to SE Station where the clerk should have lined out the barcode when they scanned it. They didn’t so it went back to SE station again. Finally it got sent to the right delivery unit and was delivered. At least 1 USPS screw up, probably 2. By the way, the person who addressed it has chicken scratch handwriting as bad as I do. Slapped a handwritten label over an old mailing label. It was legible, barely. The good news is it finally got delivered. I’d recommend a typed label large enough to cover the middle area of the package. If reusing a box or envelope be sure any old barcodes or labels are completely removed. If you mail it at the window verify they put the correct zip on the label. People make mistakes, some more than others.

And FedEx isn't necessarily a better option. Here is the tracking on my wife's package that needed to go 62 miles for a "2-day delivery". It went 512 miles and was actually delivered in 4 days.

No kiddin'... we're waiting on a package that shipped 9-29-20 from a FedEx facility in Florence, South Carolina.

From there it went to North Carolina... then to Indiana... and is currently (at 12:02pm today) in Dallas, TX.

Route looks like the dance of a honey bee or somethin' ...

I use the USPS exclusively and receive 3 or 4 packages from Texass, North Carolina, and Massachusetts weekly. Once in awhile there is a screw up but none of them have been a USPS problem. The USPS does have some quirky methods but they are thousands of times better than UPS.

I've never had a lost package from USPS. That said there were at least 5 packages that were tampered with from UPS and 3 times when the package was left at a neighbors shop while I was at home watching the said UPS moron drive right on by.

I would always recommend the USPS and discourage anyone from using UPS.

I dispise the usps with a passion not felt since shermans march to the sea.

I had a package that I paid 2nd day delivery for, took two weeks to deliver, after it bounced all over this state and a quick trip to Texas before coming back. usps customer service is a joke, no help, add to it that it actually made it to my local post office twice before it was delivered the 3rd time. It made it here then left, what the **** are those over paid idiots doing?

Latest package was "delayed" after it dropped off the radar in MA, 4 days later it pops back up again and get delivered, box is all mangled to **** but hey who cares right, just give us more tax payer money so we can stay in business and **** over more people.

Thankfully my bills are delivered thru email and I have all payments set for auto pay, I would hate to think how bad they would **** up all of that.

Face it they are not the post office of days gone by, and would be better if pulled out of the governments hands and run by a private business.

Dont even get me going on the actual post office being open and staffed, LOL ya thats funny right there.

You should take your mailbox down and never use USPS for anything ever again. That’ll show em. If you’re bored you should read up on what actually funds the USPS. I’m also calling BS on your 2 claims of late delivery, especially the 2 week story. Prove me wrong by posting the tracking numbers. I think you just like to complain. You kind of sound like an ex employee who got fired from there.

USPS, or how I was able to meet a lot of neighbors, as I take their mail out of my mail box, and deliver it to them, or they deliver my mail to me. Never had an issue with the USPS until we moved, that was @ 10 years ago and it's been bad ever since. Tried to get pstmstr put in charge of Yukon, didn't work out ;)

LOL ya ok.

About the only "mail" I receive is junk mail, with the exception of a few amazon packages that ups and fed ex mow hand off to the usps to deliver, I do not receive mail, like I said all banking, bills and other documents are emailed to me, they seem to get delivered on time LOL.

What funds the usps, well tax payer bailouts these days.

I have never worked for the usps,

If I could provide the tracking numbers for those items I would joyfully do so.

Since we are on the topic and I know you are usps fan boy, go find the 4 G19 mags I ordered from the now closed 44mag.com that never showed up, seems they fell off radar in Oregon IIRC, but its been 8 years ago, I hope the usps employee that stole them is enjoying them.

Also I dont like to complain, matter of fact I rarely post on the board, but my thoughts on the usps stand.

In 32 years I never saw a Priority or Express take 2 weeks to get delivered unless there was an addressing issue or other reason on the senders or receivers end. Your case must be special but without the tracking number I guess we will never know. 8 years ago is a little long to check but if your unsubstantiated claim of employee theft makes you feel better than go with that. I used to have a Glock 19 but sold it and the extra mags I had for it. [emoji23]
