Is there any alternative to a primer? Any entrepreneurs out there?

It seems there is a golden opportunity for someone to invent an electrical device or mechanism or something to fire a cartridge. Are there too many variables? Too much liability?
I'm sure some brain after the appocyclips could figure out something.

For instance. The thread about the CRAM vs A-10 @SlugSlinger explained the rounds were electrically fired with no primer in the round.

I'm just speculating here. I don't care how outlanding the ideas are, throw them out there.

It has been done. Remington had a centerfire rifle and CVA had a muzzle loader.

Ran across a couple videos on YouTube showing how to rebuild used primers using caps for toy guns. A little teadious but if you are desperate it is a way to make it go bang.

I've read that a lot of people are starting to use this off-the-shelf priming compound. It's made for reloading 22lr but apparently works on centerfire cartridges as well. Never used it myself though.

It's was done, it failed.

Looks like it failed because there was no need for it at the time. Now there is. They don't show the cartridge though.

How do you get the dents out of the primer? A brass punch?
