I have the 5.0
Pulls my 27' RV just fine.

B-i-L has the 3.5EB
It is faster in a drag race
Gets better gas mileage
Will pull the RV, but it is pulling

IF you are going to pull a load, V8
You want a commuter, gas mileage, V6

The 5.0 is built to be a 250k engine, according to Ford
The V6 is not a durable, if working hard.

Wif has EB in her Lincoln. It performs better than expected from the displacement

The 3.5 is a proven engine now I would say, even in the 18 you are looking at that is 7 or 8 years after it came out. I have a 3.5 eco boost in my f-150 and love it. I don't tow often, sometimes a boat or trailer, but when I do those turbos handle it like its nothing.

Like others said though, I am on some f-150 forums and its literally a draw between what you prefer when it comes to the 3.5 and the 5.0. If you were talking about the 2.7 or something else then it starts mattering.

I have an F-150 3.3 L naturally aspirated. As has been said before it's an okay truck for commuting and light-duty. But one thing that hasn't been said is the V8 will produce torque. And believe me you will miss that torque producing V8 as soon as you get behind the wheel of a V6 and try to pass a semi on the interstate.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my 2003 150 Super Crew toa newer one. I have foud 2, 2018's that are practically identical in millage (one has 3K less miles) and same asking price. Difference is one has a V-6 the other a V-8. Please tell me which would be the "better" deal and why.

I should ad that both are 4WD, as is my 03, and this is more of a vanity upgrade as my '03 runs fine and I drive less than 50 miles per week.

Thanks
Well you see, the answer to this question starts with another question how good are you at replacing cam phasers ?

We have a 5.0 with 240k miles, runs strong, only major things have been a water pump and a throttle body, which in my opinion is not a big deal

Do they even offer the 7.3 gasser Godzilla engine in the 150’s?
Coupled with the 10 speed tranny, 4:30 gearing in our F-250 it’s a beast for towing. Basic push rod engine.
I hear Ford is looking at dropping that into some Mustangs.
With 430 Hp, that would be a street racer.
