If we're going to talk about road damage (broadly speaking) then we need to bring up how trucks and SUVs keep getting bigger every year and heavier.
Retarded **** like this used to be a rarity but now it's everywhere you go. And a lot of times they are driven by short 5'1 women who can barely get in without a ladder and see over the dashboard.
One would hope that commercial tag fees account for the damage caused by big rigs. One would HOPE.Light weight commuter vehicles ………….
Over the road semi trucks are tagged at 85k lbs.
Heavy haulers are even heavier
That Prius hybrid or lifted pickup is nothing in comparison.

Vehicles getting bigger and heavier is detrimental and irreversible. People started buying them because they seem safer in crashes, and not because they need the carrying capacity, and then they get all defensive about being oppressed if you ask why they need them.
At what point do people consider double-cab, long bed dually F350s to be too small? Seems like it'll happen soon.
People will start buying semi tractors with a 5th wheel and then retrofit a bed as part of the stupid arms race to see who can drove around taking up the most space.
