EVs have a long way to go before they're the savior liberals claim they are.

Added weight. The toxic waste from 1) battery production and 2) battery disposal.
Battery fires. Limited range. Relatively few charging locations. Cost of battery replacement. Burden on electric power infrastructure.

I think they'll get there ultimately. I don't think I'll be around to see it, though. And it's definitely not going to be by 2035.

If we're going to talk about road damage (broadly speaking) then we need to bring up how trucks and SUVs keep getting bigger every year and heavier.

Retarded **** like this used to be a rarity but now it's everywhere you go. And a lot of times they are driven by short 5'1 women who can barely get in without a ladder and see over the dashboard.

I find it ironic you should mention this, the post master at Preston is a short little woman about 5 feet tall and she drives a massive lifted Ram with a Hemi

Light weight commuter vehicles ………….
Over the road semi trucks are tagged at 85k lbs.
Heavy haulers are even heavier
That Prius hybrid or lifted pickup is nothing in comparison.

One would hope that commercial tag fees account for the damage caused by big rigs. One would HOPE.

The Silverstar(?) trucking company that does all the aggregate hauling in my area just tears up the roads and kicks up rocks everywhere they go. They are ALWAYS in a rush too.

Vehicles getting bigger and heavier is detrimental and irreversible. People started buying them because they seem safer in crashes, and not because they need the carrying capacity, and then they get all defensive about being oppressed if you ask why they need them.

At what point do people consider double-cab, long bed dually F350s to be too small? Seems like it'll happen soon.

People will start buying semi tractors with a 5th wheel and then retrofit a bed as part of the stupid arms race to see who can drove around taking up the most space.

Not full semi-trucks, but just a wee bit smaller. SportChassis units are being built in Clinton, OK and have been for some time. I've known of some professional sports figures that have bought one with pickup style beds.

Some RV'ers and a number of those people in the horse industry have also been buying them to pull their trailers.
