Ms Oklahoma, this survey is obviously flawed.

I started to say the Native Americans are gonna be upset BUT ...

While I was talking to my HVAC guy yesterday we got to talking about heritage and how in Oklahoma (and probably a LOT of the rest of this country if people were honest) you really cannot tell by looking at somebody what their heritage is.

I am white. So white, in fact, that if I was standing in a snowstorm you'd lose me. You guys who have seen me can vouch for that description. Lol This fella was, by all appearances, 100% African American.

The more we visited the more we found that our family histories were scarily similar. SO similar, in fact, that I'm tempted to take a DNA test and trying to find my great grandparents on both sides, and great great grandparents were.

Right now I know the story that was passed down. That I have Cherokee, Choctaw and Pottawatomie blood. My Cherokee great great grandfather married his African American slave after she became pregnant so she and their child would be able to get Indian benefits. He stayed married to his NA wife also.

It was absolutely astounding how similar our stories were. We were swapping all the info we knew about ourselves because wr honestly believe there is a chance we might actually be related. Lol How wild is THAT??!?! 😲😲😲

The older I get the more convinced I am that God has the most warped sense of humor around. 😂😂😂

So ... I mean ... It's possible she's as much NA as any of us ... Welcome to Oklahoma! 😂😂😂

As someone that enjoys genetics this is what most people are taught, but it's far from true.
While it's true that *some* people are difficult due to the "mutt" nature of America, most people can be pegged pretty quickly based on head shape, hair, eyes, chin, and nose bridge.

If you study a bit you can pick out the basics relatively easy. Now, that's not to say you can tell if someone has 1% Sri Lankan or 0.5% Cherokee etc, but you can usually tell the top three breeds of dog in the kennel without trying too hard.
