Should some Oklahomans be exempt from the state's income tax?

It’s not about penalizing success, it’s about making sure that those who are less successful aren’t burdened with a higher tax bill than those able to pay it…. What I pay in taxes as a working man is money that goes mostly towards my basic needs. Clothing, shelter, etc

If you’re spending money on a private jet then you can afford to pay a tax on that

I am AGAINST those luxury items being used as a TAX WRITE-OFF BUSINESS EXPENSE, instead of being taxed.
Pay the sales tax and DONE.

OR pay a flat rate (10%), no exemptions, on what you earn. Fair for EVERYBODY.
Complain you are paying too much. Just earn less. Problem solved.

Not everyone. LOTS of folks today that were drafted, so they didn't entirely volunteer. It was either go to the military or go to jail or leave the country.

Not to play "devil's advocate," or anything but... didn't you just make the case for there always - and I emphasize 'always'! - being options/alternatives? [Regardless of those options' desirability or undesirability, they exist.]

We young ones are dealing with what you, your parents and children left us.

Dumbing down school system, indoctrination of socialism, entitlement.
Corruption of elections and no term limits.
Too many in Congress, not Boomers, Gen X, Y or Z; that have been there 30, 40, 50 and more years.

The problems belong to everybody. Some for voting for it, some for allowing it to happen.

The biggest set backs have mostly been when Dumbasscraps were in charge.
FDR, LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Odumbass, Pedo Joe.

if you're the right race, you don't need to pay income tax.

native american tribes are the only ones who can have racial requirements for citizenship in this country. The only organization that's allowed in our society to be racist.

if our Republican congress and governor get their way our state tax will get whittled down to ZERO and we will be in line with several other states -- at this point if you live here you should pay taxes --- the state needs to enforce all these things according to the law - including car tags which tribes have been allowed to cheat on for many-many years

Yeah, it would definitely be nice to be able to actually have the needed funds to live in today's economy, from 1 retirement check. At 71, I am still forced to work to make the ends somewhat meet occasionally, without having to go further in debt. So I agree with Aku. After a lifetime of paying taxes on every breath you take, there should be a break before the last one.!!!

The problem with an income tax is that EVERY tax is then paid with monies that have already been taxed. Plus it allows elites to make exemptions that only they qualify for.

Eliminate income tax, eliminate sales tax on essential groceries. A FLAT TAX or sales tax is FAIR. Everybody pays same percentage.

Balanced budget amendment would solve many problems. Operate as a household. No money, no spend. Overspend, Congress forfeits 1/2 pay until balanced.

Prosecute corruption would work wonders.

I'm a proponent of a National Sales Tax as long as they do away with income tax. This would be the most equitable tax as it is based on consumption and it would do two things; encourage saving and tax the wealthiest more as they consume at a greater level. Think of the cost savings as we would no longer be funding the IRS and their gotcha attitude.

Yeah your right, but the hidden tax, inflation has a bigger impact on those who are working to be poor than taxes do.

If you are poor and have kids you actually make money from tax credits.

Huh? Cheat how? I'm Cherokee and refuse to get a Cherokee tag, but my wife is Choctaw and we have Choctaw tags on two vehicles. We had to pay for TTL up front on both and were given a small percentage back from the tribe.

How'd anyone cheat or get cheated?
