I was just looking at some pics of my property, an I'll be damned if one of those feeders you just described isn't bungie corded to a tree on the west end of my land. I was curious as to what the hell that was. welp. guess I just saved some money. I have a new feeder

looks like they used the whole piece of pipe.it will probly hold a full bag of corn. mine is about half that length and they hold about 40 pounds.so your set to try out a feeder all you need is some corn.i am going to fill my feeders next weekend and start getting my stands ready . you might also put out a salt block or a mineral block. you can get them at a feed store for 5 to 10 dollars they help also. i forgot earlyer i will put alittle sweet feed in the opening of my feeders when i first start useing them the deer like the sweet smell. you could probly use molasses from the store to do the same thing.they also love peanut butter that might work to get them startedon the feeder.once you get them started all you have to do is keep it full.we went through about 1500lbs of corn and about 1000lbs of rice bran last year and we didn't put our feeders out until the end of sept. and stopped useing them the first of the year. if you have a game camera put it up by your feeder you wii be surprised as to what comes to your feeder.

thats a good area to hunt. we hunt east of sardis lake. you might try to hang some feeders and also use some rice bran. like walker said .we use both but we don't mix it. we use old molasis tubs for the rice bran.we made our feeders out of sewer pipe.we had real good success last year on them. the pic on my avatar is one of the bucks we had coming in last year.no one got him either he is very nocturnal.but the areas you and i are hunting is hard to disc or till for food plots.we also used some throw and grow last year it did fair.just need to plant it where there is alot of sun light.that was our problem with it not enough sun in the canyons we hunt.glad to see someone that hunts down my way.just be glad when i can retire and move backto home.
It's a small world. I have a few acres a little west of lake Sardis. It would be good hunting except for handfull of bat$h*t crazy locals. I didn't even go there last year, went to some public land out north west.

Swamp, I had several of those feeders made out of PVC pipe. I wouldn't know how well they work because I had them painted and ready to hang but threw them up on top of our camper to hang at a later time when one of those locals decided to start a campfire on the inside of our camper when I wasn't there. :pissed:

Don't put anything down there that you can't keep an eye on. Otherwise it's some good area to hunt.

yea we do have some idiots in the area but since i get to hunt on kinfolks land that is land locked we don't have much problem.there used to be alot of people burning barns and stuff west of sardis a couple of years ago.it was some teenagers they caught some of them in the act.i humt north of albion which is about 16 miles east of sardis.

the pipe feeders is the way to go if you can't be around real often that way if something does happen your not out alot of money.if that feeder is someones from another property you might want make your own and put it in a different location.but keep an eye on that one for sign the deer is useing it.if ther is a water sorce on you land try and put your feeder close to it that helps pull the deer in easier also.
