I will be out with my 15 yr old but he is more interested in rattle snakes than deer. He has killed a few deer but we are going to Mangum to try to catch a few snakes. He is a lot more excited about that than deer hunting.

Yup going to take my son 12, we went looking for some quacker this last weekend few & far between. Have not decided where to take him for deer we just hunt public so sometimes the ickins are slim by he still enjoys to go. Have to get him out this week to check my reloads for his 7-08.

I probably should save my pennies & get a lease next year so he can have a decent chance to see a decent deer. He is a trooper & just likes to get out & chase game.

Good luck to all the kiddo's

Had my girlfriends 9 year old daughter with me yesterday! we saw 12 and she was so upset we didn't get one. I never had kids but I'm totally enjoying taking the kids with me it's more about getting them out than getting a deer. I sure hope I'm being a good example! Later,

Kirk

Great job. Just try to get her to focus on the experience of being out there and that getting one is a bonus. Worked for me, but took some time for my son to understand that.

Everyone taking kids out hunting, keep up the good work.

I am taking my cousins boy who is 13 in the morning and taking my daughter who is 12 in the evening. They have both killed several deer and are fairly competitive about it I just like to see them out and having fun. Last year I sat my cousins boy in my favorite stand then walked about 80 yards and sat in a folding chair and watched him (first time he was left alone in the stand). There were two does and a buck ten yards behind him and he never saw them! I have given him a hard time all year so he is pumped and ready to draw blood.

No luck last night. I took 3 girls and with all the giggling and fidgeting I'm surprised nothing showed up. I'm taking just the oldest this morning to sit in a tree stand.

We are sitting in the woods in Sallisaw on the sun is just starting to peak throught the clouds and it has been raining a little. I am cold and wet but completly happy. I would not trade this moment for a new 1911. My daughter is sitting at the base of a big oak tree and she has her rifle in her lap. I think she might even be asleep.
