They said fmj's would ricochet off the backstop (which I know is the reason why H&H checks for steel cores, but regular fmj's are allowed, so that puzzled me).

H&H has a rifle range...where the backstop meets the requirements for high velocity rifle rounds. Seems GW isn't built for that...yet another reason to stay away from them.

Ok, I will chime in on this thread. I live right behind there and went down to purchase a new FN FiveseveN and a LCP with Crimson Trace. Mike said he would give me a good deal on the FiveseveN since im close. He told me 870 plus 30 for shipping plus tax. I said im good with that price and will call him the next day to order either the OD or Desert Earth. Was undecided on color so i wanted to think about it over night. Call the next day to place the order and drop some money on the purchase and for some reason his pricing jumped to over 1300 plus tax. I said ill have to pass and went down to Kings pawn and bought over $2500 from Dave there and was very happy as i got a lot of stuff.

I am actually tired of looking at Gun World's Oil/ Junkyard Crap behind their building as it is not pleasant to look at out my back porch. I will say this... Mike was very nice and helpful but the prices were very high and I have since took my business elsewhere. If they just cleaned up their crap in the back I might spend some range time there but not till its cleaned up. Plus as everyone else has said no 223 shooting or other high velocity ammo aloud.

Again, I have always been treated good from a customer standpoint but the prices were ridiculous.

I have never been to gun world, but i have heard bad stuff like everyone. I go to h&h because its clean and the employees are decent. A customer at h&h told me he paid 599.00 for a used Glock 17 with 2 10 rd mags. That is crazy. Noone is really the best price, some guns move better at different locations. Anyway, maybe i will go in one day to see what all the negative talk is. Outdoor america, well i go there to get cold steel knives, i have to wait an hour before anyone will even look at me, but to save 40 or 50 bucks, i guess its worth it.

My husband and I stopped at gunworld yesterday to use the range. Neither of us had ever been there. We were in the area and thought "hey let's check out their range"

$33 later we left, myself a nervous wreck.

We paid our range time time and took my new XD in. At the far end was a group of young men (6 or 7) firing a couple of Desert Eagles. I fired off 2 mags and stepped back while my husband reloaded them so he could fire it. The group were all laughing and cutting up, and to my horror, I watched one load his mag, turn it sideways in my direction, and push the mag in while he was waiting for his buddy to finish. Then minutes later watched two of them load their 50 cal. And push them into the waistbands of their sweatpants and walk out.

I like H&H. I have been a member there for two years and I will stay a member. They have good prices and they are good people. I have found a few things cheaper at other places, but unless it is a big amount. I will buy from H&H.

Midway and Natchez buy them by the semi load. Do you suppose they get a price break?
