I found a used XD 9mm with 600-700 rnds through it but its in perfect cosmetic condition for $400 total and it comes with 4 mags and upgraded sights but im not sure if its a good deal. Brand New it could be had for $400 and 25 for shipping and I could do the rebate with SA and get 3 free mags which we be 5 mags total with the brand new gun.

Because im green behind the ears with this stuff im not sure if the upgraded sights on the used XD are worth paying nearly the same price as a new XD and losing and extra mag in the process. Can someone give me advice please???

hmmm. it depends on what you like doing. if you like being the first guy to get your grubbies on something then buy new. if not, maybe consider waiting arounda bit. xds arent as popular as glocks and can be had for a good price. sub 400. patience

I just figured out how to add pics so there they go. What do you think is a good price in your book for that considering brand new they go for 425 total on gunbroker brand new.

I say its a good deal, I would like to know however where can you get a new XD for $400 and get 3 additional free magazines

Gunbroker.com has lots of them for 399.99 and around 25 for shipping. And Springfield Armory has a free rebate for 3 free mags with any XD purchase on their website.

Whats stopping me is I just dont know the value of the sights. Are sights worth paying that much for? He said he paid 100 for parts and pro installation, does that sound about right???

ide say buy new, get the free stuff and research and see what sights if any at all you would want. You may hate those sights that are on it. And you dont know the quality of ammo he put through it.

I would agree with buy new, but if you like it buy it, it looks like a nice gun and that many rounds is not a problem for a quality gun like that, is the Springfield warranty transferrable? That would be my only issue with buying a gun that new used...

Upgraded sights are only an upgrade if they are what you want. If you want night sights to use this as a carry/defensive gun, then the fiber optic front and black target rear aren't going to do you any good.

Or you could have the bug really bad, and buy your own sight pusher. 2 professional installs and it practically pays for itself.
