I I understand this bill correctly, simple possession of such a device would be illegal. There is no provision for a 'grandfather clause'. That's not right. In fact the whole bill is made up over a single incident. Granted, it was horrific, but this is the first time I've heard of such devices being used in a crime.

Yet you can expect to see more bills like this every time there is a mass shooting, and sooner or later some will be passed. If not now then the next time the Democrats control congress.
Again.....what's this "Democrats" stuff? We don't need to wait for a Democrat to screw us. This one is a near copy of Feinstein's proposed bill - and by a Republican. I don't consider the GOP to be much more trustworthy, especially in these days of "Republicans in name only". They'll be happy to strip you of your rights, too.
Because a Republican controlled congress will not pass it no matter what the RINOs want. It would take a lot of pressure from their base before they would. They know if they did pass one they would lose what support they have. Democrats will pass one if given the chance because they think they know better than the peasants.
