Hahahahaha, ‘its coming and coming fast. Trump is going to go down and it’s going to get much worse.

Much, Much worse. The republicans are likely to turn on him based on this Syria / Turkey fiasco

I haven't heard enough about his reasoning, but I'm tired of our finest being killed and maimed to protect those that have been fighting against each other for centuries and will do so after we leave or if we stay there.
Get the F out and let them settle their own differences. Let the best survive. If they want to attack us again, we turn the entire region into a glass skate bowl and let them know that in advance.
We don't need to be their protector. They have enough oil money they can protect themselves one would think. Saudi Arabia has our latest technology in fighter jets. Why can't they protect themselves? We
have dumped our latest technology on them since the 70's.
Why can't they defend themselves?
We don't need them now as we are a net exporter of oil.

They key issue here is the Kurds, the non Arab part of the area. They are a bit like Jews in that Shiites and sunni’s hate them, Turkey hates them hell they forbid the language even. And we the United States have supported the Kurds as they have been an ally against the Assad Regime in Syria and ISIS in Iraq. But in true old USA fashion we have seemingly abandoned them. It could be said this is how we make future Bin Ladens, out of the Kurds :). It also says we will only want to use you as long as it fits our interests and when it doesn’t you are on your own and often unexpectedly. I don’t disagree with the concept of ending winless, fruitless wars but it is something that highly capable military leaders should be doing (LIKE JIM F’N MATTIS) give them the task of ending it and let them set a time frame and accomplish the goal. Trumps approach is as usual thoughtless brash. Frankly I hope we planted radio controlled suite-case nukes all over the country so we can put the poor bastards out of their misery. We seem to have a habit of abandoning folks Mujahideen, Contra’s, Kurds you name it we jump ship she it get difficult so maybe we should never be involved at all I don’t know. I do know that enough GOP Senators are pissed about the Turkey issue as to put him in danger of removal where he wasn’t before. Trump cant even keep a staff your cant tell me you haven’t noticed this? Mattis tried to bow out gracefully and Trump **** on him, and even to this day Mattis is professional and refuses to counterpunch. We have a serious problem right now wherein Trump is seemingly making most of the decisions himself without wise guidance and it is shows. I realize he has the Democrats propaganda arm to fight as well, but he’s no longer winning that fight Twitter is not enough.

The above in bold is interesting to me. According to Wikipedia, the Kurds are largely Muslims.

Religion in Kurdistan

Granted, the link specifies "Kurdistan" and not Syria, but is there that much difference?

They are also extremely socialist.

I'm not ready to make a decision on the Kurds. I've seen posts on other forums made by guys who actually fought with the Kurds and they are very upset that we are abandoning them. "They were very loyal". "They were the only ones in the region who would step up". "We could always count on them. Always." Stuff like that.

But given the history and geography did the Kurds have a choice? If we gave them 6 months notice or gave them an automatic green card or something like that would we have heard about it in our media? I gots my doubts.

Jury is still out on this one, but I do agree we need to stop building perpetual bases of operation all over the world.

Kurdish is an ethnicity, not a religion. They aren't Arabs and they aren't Turks. There's the problem. When those dorks in London drew up a new map of the Ottoman Empire, they ran out of ink before they drew Turkistan.

The Kurds are actually predominantly Muslim (mostly Sunni but not entirely) but they are Indo European in ethnicity. So it could simply be racism but the Arab Sunnis don’t like them and the Arab Shiites don’t much care for either of the two. Oddly enough the Shia and Sunni Kurds don’t kill each other like the Arabs its not a decisive issue for them. Originally the Kurds occupied parts of Irag, Iran, Syria and Turkey and the Arabs invaded that area in the 600’s and Islamized (which is why they are Muslim today) they are the largest population with out a homeland (country to their own) in the world.(Palestinians have nothing on the Kurds) They have had some uprisings wanting to have their own homeland through the years so it could be the grudge comes from. Basically it would seem they are the Native Americans of the Middle East.

I have often wondered when Revelations speaks of splitting Babylon into 3 parts, if it wasn't in some way referencing a split into these three sections Sunni(Arab), Shiite(Arab), and Kurdish (Muslim). Not sure we get to know this side of heaven
