I use San Filipo Ent. Chris has taken care of all my trimming, removal etc. for years at my home and my rental properties. 405-426-9225.
Stay away from anybody that gives you a quote over the phone and ask to see insurance

R&B Turf and Tree. Professional, polite and hard working. They showed a lot of concern for my lawn, too. A few months ago they removed one tree about 15 feet tall (very full), another about 10 feet tall (kinda spindly) and ground 3 stumps. Excellent clean up too. Was way under $1,000. I think it was even less than $700. $600-$650?

Not sure where you are, but I would highly recommend Urban Arborist out of Choctaw if you are in the OKC area. He's done quite a bit of work for us and his prices were about 30% cheaper than some of the local boys that came out and gave us estimates. Last one was a silver oak (pic attached) and he did it for $700, stump grinding included. He also removed a group of 6 oaks that had died and did that for about $850. His number (Dustin) is (405) 473-8642.

My in-laws paid around $4000 for a 40 yr old maple to be cut down a few years ago. Get estimates would be my suggestion. SIL paid about the same for 2 large trees to be removed from her backyard.

+1 on a few estimates. The prices vary greatly depending on who you call.

Thought of another guy. Depending one what kind of tree, this guy has a sawmill and harvests lumber. He may be a much cheaper option and you may even get paid if it's a large hardwood like walnut, pecan, maple, oak, or etc. I think he's out of Edmond. He's always posting in the woodworking FB groups pics of the trees he cuts down. Says he does a 50-50 split with the owner. Might be worth a phone call.
