So I was a glock shooter for several years, I had an M-9 but only shot it occasional. Last year I decided to really concentrate on the Beretta. I found that I could outshoot my G34 with the Beretta 9 times out of 10. I do really enjoy shooting these pistols one of these days I will get the...
The 21 can be carried cocked and locked but I find the safety to small for my to hit it every time. I do like my little 21a though I added crimson trace grips and now it's my go everywhere pistol.
If you want a drill that will test your fundamentals I would suggest a drill called "the test".
The drill is fairly simple a B-8 target or repair center(PDF's can be printed from home if your range doesn't carry them) set at 10 yards. You start out with 10 rounds loaded in the pistol, pistol at...
Out of those listed my pick would be the Glock 43.
Unless you plan on pocket carry being the primary mode of carry for the new pistol.
That would tip the scales in favor of the CM-9 or a S&W J-frame.
Honestly for a house gun the Ruger 10-22 would be good, especially equipped with a couple of 25 round mags.
The double action pull on most revolvers are going to be tough to work for people with arthritis.
22 revolvers are worse than the center fire siblings due to heavier springs needed for rim...
It looks like from where he shot himself, that he would not have been able to look his pistol into the holster.
He would have been better off buy taking the holster off, then putting the pistol in the holster and finally putting the holster back IWB.
But I agree with you, looking your pistol...
Hammer fired could have prevented this because any movement in of the trigger can be felt if you put your thumb over the hammer while holstering.
While it went off while he was sitting there was probably trigger movement during holstering.
Plus the longer trigger pull of most D/A provides...
Nope only FFL's are allowed to use the USPS for handguns. Everyone else has to use a "Common Carrier" i.e.. UPS or Fedex.
I have saved money before by using a FFL to ship using the USPS.
It was cheaper to pay the FFL fee and ship though the USPS, than to ship 2nd day air.
The uncle mikes sausage sack strikes again.
He got a wad of shirttail in the trigger gaurd of his striker fired pistol, that could happen to almost any holster out there.
That's one of the reasons why I am starting to Change over my carry gun to a model with a hammer.
The GSSF website sure doesn't make it easy to find the indoor matches.
I tried to find the schedule that bootleggn posted and I couldn't find it.
I wish I had known about this before I had already committed to other things this weekend!
Todd Green @ pistol training.com is doing an endurance test on a 9mm 1911 and he started using the elite tactical wilsons exclusively.
He used several brands of mags before settling on these. He is currently @ 27,995 rounds though the platform so he has a little experience!
I currently use speer gold dots 147 in all of my defensive handguns just as a matter of preference. Get any HST, ranger or gold dot hollow point round in the 124-147 range and you should be good. If you must have a 115 use a round that utilizes the Barnes solid copper bullet. Other 115 have...
Another non-traditional holster worth checking out is the pistol wear trump card.
I have their pt-2 holster and I can wear my Jframe while running even while wearing the thinner "technical" running gear.
After living with the Pt-2 for awhile I wish I would have gotten the trump card as my...
I Like Dex's Mexican grill, its across the street from TU's stadium.
good food but the service is a bit slow, so don't go there if you are in a hurry.
If you do go there try the Chile Verde its good stuff!
I used the Iphone apps for awhile. I got frustrated with it missing shots or picking up extra shot when shooting under cover.
I picked up the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro 2 Shot Timer and have been happy with its performance.
