Anyone handload for the 03A3? I'm about to began the process of working up the best load for mine. I was hoping if anyone had a good load for theirs it might be a good starting point for me.

For my M1 I just duplicate m2 ball specs with a 150gr softpoint. I have got along good with it. Mainly use imr4895 but have bought some varget to try.
I have some H4895 and H4831 was also going to load up some of this in a 150 and 165. I just wasn't sure if the 03A3 would shoot more accurate with a heavier bullet say a 180 or heavier. Guess I'm in for some range time, which is all good.
Just don't try to hot rod the old 03, dont be afraid to shoot it, but dont try to cook up some uber-hot hand loads in it.
Becker, FYI, The Hornady Match load is duplicated by 46.5gns of Varget with a 168 Amax, for the M1 Garand.

Ok, thanks for the info I was planning on starting at the low end then checking the brass for any problems. It shoots Lake City match well, but I don't have much left. The garand load may match up well with my 03.
It should, and the Amax bullet seem to come apart quite violently. I am shooting them in my 300wm for elk this winter. They are also my "go to" bullets for wild piggies in .308.
