I was in Dallas today and I dropped in at the Premium Beretta Dealer. In their showroom they had several 90K shotguns (S010's) and there was even a model priced at 120K. So here is my question: What makes these guns so expensive? I know they are mechanically different than a Silver Pigeon, but are they they really worth 100K more? Are you paying for the engraving, wood, action, prestige, or severely limited supply? What am I missing?

By the way, that shotgun was the most beautiful gun I've ever seen. Maybe that explains it.

Simple. Demand.

A rare gun, in excellent condition, with a reputation of being a fine firearm, and a market base willing to pay that kind of price.

I understand market forces (those things we are slowly strangling with excessive regulations), but what specifically generates this crazy demand?
