May just need to be broken in. Clean it good after each session. And keep shooting it.

It could otherwise be a number of things. Week spring, rough feedramp slowing down the bullets chambering, the slide catching too much of the magazine lips, etc.

If it doesn't stop after another 50 rounds, then I'd start looking at those other issues.

Most of the problems w/mine were fixed by polishing the feed ramp. But if you do just be very careful.

If you bought it new, go complain to the seller, see what they do about it.
A rock island is normally loose enough and they'll feed anything

You say it doesn't matter what mag you use.
If your talking about the ones that came with the gun
it may still be a mag problem.
Find a mag you know absolutely works in other guns ( a full size 1911 mag will work)
and try it in your gun.
Those compacts need a lot of break-in compared to a full size and most new compact owners get disgusted and sell it before it ever gets broken in.
The new owner gets a bargain cause the disgusted owner is upset and sells cheap.
The new guy shoot a couple hundred more rounds which finally breaks it in and he's happy with his new toy.
Disgusted owner then bad-mouths that brand as junk.

It's junk, I will haul it off for you for $50. But don't tell anyone I was that nice.... Lol.... Polish the ramp, use ball ammo and run her wet. My last two RIAs had ramps that looked like they went straight from casting to the gun.

I agree with Olyeller..,.let customer service sort it out!...It could be multiple problems,i.e
1) ramp angles on frame and/or barrel
2) chamber dimensions of barrel too small(less than SAAMI specs)
3) barrel swing is not timed properly(wrong link) ***high possiblity here
4)break over angle on barrel throat and step between barrel and frame too small
5)Extractor tensioned too high
6) Mag catch too low

Etc.,etc., etc.

Just my opinion YMMV...

Hey Jeff

...have you testfired your RIA yet?

Barry

PS: Stan....thanks for the recommendation :)

BJG

No problem. ;) I figure it's easier to just cut to the chase about it and recommend him to somebody who really knows what they're talking about, and like I said in my post, if it's messed up, return it. Tinker with old pistols (or atleast with pistols you bought for that purpose), but new pistols.... nope.

I still want to say "Beason" too... so I thought it would be easier for me to just refer to you as the Doctor. :)
